There has been
a recent increase in the price of fuel in South Africa. The delivery of the
vehicles and associated services that relies on transport has been increased
accordingly.
1. South African Law states
that transiting imported vehicles cannot be driven on South African roads. They
have to be taken by car carrier to various border posts.
2. If there are incorrect details on documentation received from the suppliers
or from you, AVECS cannot be held responsible for any costs that may arise from
such errors. If there is a need for us to correct any documents then you will
be responsible to give us an amended invoice or Bill of lading. There will be
a R250-00 charge for all corrections that needs to be done.
3. If you intend using your own transport then we require that the transporting
company be registered. The following is required from the Transporting Company:
a. A letter from the transporting
company confirming that they will be moving the cargo across South Africa to
its final destination
b. The registration details of the
truck and trailer
c. A copy of the cross border permit.
4. If your vehicle is destined for Botswana then, by law, it will be cleared
into a BOND STORE. There are several Bond Stores in Gaborone, Botswana. For
example you could use Nata Clearing, Eveready Freight or Royal Freight. They
are all based in Gaborone. When you have identified the Clearing Agent you want
to use then you are obliged to furnish us with the name of the company, contact
person and telephone numbers so that we could contact them to get certain details.
5. All vehicles that are destined for Zambia, Zimbabwe, Congo and Malawi will
be cleared using Beitbridge (Border between South Africa and Zimbabwe) as a
transit route.
6. AVECS did not sell the vehicle to you. We cannot be held responsible for
the condition of the vehicle or damages while in transit.
7. If you are going to do a bank transfer as a method of payment then please
use your reference number. We will not be held responsible for delays in tracing
funds that do not have the correct reference. Do not use your
name as a reference.
8. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY VIA WESTERN UNION OR MONEY
GRAM. We only accept bank transfers.
9. If you intend transferring money for the clearance and delivery of your vehicle
– the money must be transferred within the 7(seven) day free storage period.
If the money is transferred after the 7th free day, an additional 4 (four) days
storage will be charged to cater for the clearance and delivery of your vehicle.
10. A transfer slip is not proof of transfer. The financial transaction will
be deemed to be complete only when the money is in AVECS’s account. Please note
that it takes 3 working days for international money transfers to reflect in
our account.
11. All bank charges will be for the account of the consignee. Vehicles will
not be dispatched to the border until the invoiced amount is received.
12. We only offer insurance if the vehicle is transported by car carrier. Please
do not assume that the car is automatically insured. The insurance does not
cover any minor damages to the vehicle nor does it cover any glass on the vehicle
in whatever form. It covers total loss or major damages.
13. Vehicle over 5 meters in length and 2 meters in height cannot be delivered
by a conventional car carrier. If your vehicle exceeds the maximum dimensions
then higher deliver rates will apply. These rates will be given to you separately
